{"id":712,"date":"2012-10-13T12:16:24","date_gmt":"2012-10-13T19:16:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kevinneal.com\/blog\/?p=712"},"modified":"2012-11-30T05:11:34","modified_gmt":"2012-11-30T12:11:34","slug":"end-of-september-beginning-of-october-2012-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kevinneal.com\/blog\/end-of-september-beginning-of-october-2012-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"End of September, Beginning of October 2012 updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Work:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been very busy the last few weeks.\u00a0 Most of it self-imposed work too but I like it that way.\u00a0 I really, seriously can\u2019t stand complacency and I see way too much of it, frankly.<\/p>\n<p>One of the projects I\u2019m working on is a set of technical innovative solutions.\u00a0 Some of these solutions are simple just put the piece-parts together kind of stuff which is rather easy for me with my fortunate networking experience.\u00a0 Others are conceptual and require some level of custom software development work.\u00a0 The main points I would like to portray is that we are at an incredible time in technology innovation where people with basic knowledge can design incredibly efficient solutions without the enormous costs, time and complication needed historically.\u00a0 I\u2019m passionate about sharing these new ideas and having constructive conversations because I realize that it takes vision to get organizational support for radical ideas even though the benefits can be tremendous.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stanford Cardinal versus Arizona Wildcats college football game:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" title=\"Arizona and Stanford football box score\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kevinneal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/standford_arizona_boxscore.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"586\" \/>Our annual Stanford Cardinal football game and, most importantly, pre and post tailgate adventures took place this past Saturday.\u00a0 It was a wonderful pleasant day, weather-wise and the game did not disappoint.\u00a0 First, let me briefly describe our seating position because this was very unusual from our past games where I have participated for about the past 5 or so years.\u00a0 One of our mutual friends is a Stanford Alumni and always gets the tickets.\u00a0 Usually they are great seats and we are only a few rows from the field.\u00a0 Well, this year we weren\u2019t so close to the field.\u00a0 In fact we were barely in the stadium!\u00a0 How can we go from one extreme to the other is beyond me.\u00a0 We were literally three rows from the very, very top of the stadium.\u00a0 Fortunately Stanford Stadium went through a major remodeling a few years ago and the stadium is a wonderful place to watch a game regardless of your seating position.\u00a0 I wish I didn\u2019t have to witness these \u2018bleacher seats\u2019 for myself to get that perspective but none-the-less we did.<\/p>\n<p>We were able to see all the plays and also could follow the action on the big screen displays on either end of the field so it wasn\u2019t that bad at all.\u00a0 The game itself was exciting.\u00a0 No defense what-so-ever.\u00a0 Each team compiled 617 yards of offense for a grand total of 1234 which is amazing.\u00a0 Stanford was looking really bad because they were down by two touchdowns with only about 9 minutes left but they rallied to tie the game. \u00a0Then they eventually won in overtime.\u00a0 Very exciting.<\/p>\n<p>The pre and post game festivities are always the highlight of these events though.\u00a0 There is a group of about 6-8 of us that do it annually.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait for next year!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Work: I\u2019ve been very busy the last few weeks.\u00a0 Most of it self-imposed work too but I like it that way.\u00a0 I really, seriously can\u2019t stand complacency and I see way too much of it, frankly.
